What happened when we reached Kunzum La? Was the road as bad as Kevin depicted it? Did we manage to cross the pass and reach Lahul Valley or were we forced to sell the bikes in Spiti and cover the rest of the trip using public transport?
To get answers to above question you'll have to wait till next week, as while you read this small, technical entry, together with Justine we're probably on our hasty route from Padum (the capital of Zanskar) to Delhi. We have around 1300 km (400 km on rough roads) to cover. We want to go through Srinagar and Jammu as from the latter city a proper highway starts, which runs only on plains, so we may ride quite fast. The arrival to Delhi is scheduled on 1st or 2nd of October. We have our return flight to Poland on 4th October.
More entries covering Lahul Valley, Leh - Manali Highway, visit to the Nubra Valley, a week long stay in Zanskar and return road from Padum to Delhi, will be published in the nearest weeks.
